Tips for OneDrive

Keep Files on your computer:

  1. open your OneDrive folder.
  2. Right-click a file/folder
  3. Select the "always keep on this device" option.
  4. This will download the files from the server and keep a local copy on your computer which can still be used when disconnected from the internet.
  5. This works for "file on demand" or OneDrive shortcuts

Backup your Desktop:

  1. Right-click your OneDrive Icon in the taskbar and select settings
  2. Click on the backup tab and Click Manage Backup

Save space on your computer:

  1. On Windows 10 or later, you can enable "files on demand" to allow OneDrive to store files on  the cloud without using space on your computer.
  2. To enable "file on demand" Right-click your OneDrive Icon in the taskbar and select settings
  3. Click on the settings tab and click the box that says "save space and download files as you use them"
